Rainy Day Visit from Puppy, Dorothy and Gus

Lousy weather this weekend.  It’s day four of the rain, the wind is whipping and the temperature got no higher than 50 degrees Farenheit.

Blech.

So much for our plans of hitting the Nursery and Garden Center for our Annual Scarecrow Making Day.  It really was too gray and miserable to feel like going anywhere…so, we didn’t.  Saturday we did laundry and household “stuff”, and I made a pot of homemade Chicken Vegetable soup and a double batch of Butter Biscuits.  (I’m trying to make a preemptory strike against the cold and flu bugs.  I have no idea if that works in advance, but it made me feel better to think so.)

Today…well, today was a full on “PJ Day” for the whole family.  If you’d looked up the definition of “slugs” in the dictionary, you’d have seen us grinning back at you.  By early afternoon though, it was clear – when we found the poor cat trapped on the sofa being prepped for a “Doctor’s CheckUp” -  that Liam needed a project.

Thank goodness for my stash of rainy day crafts, and in this case, thank Aunt Megan for the rockin’ Sock Puppet Kit she sent ages ago!  Lucy (the cat) was VERY pleased to find her appointment canceled in favor of a visit from Puppy, Dorothy and Gus:

Puppy to be named later (blue), Dorothy the Dragon (orange) and Liam.

The show in full swing. I'm pretty sure it was a debate about who ate the last Gummy Bear.

Gus. I'm thinking of making him my new Facebook Photo.

Dorothy the Dragon. Too bad you can't see her ridge of scales. They're WAY scary.
