Halloween 2010

…was a blast!

Brian’s sister Megan is in town visiting, and the four of us left a ton of candy on the front porch and trucked on over to The Cary’s neighborhood so Liam could go Trick or Treating with Maggie and Hannah like last year.

Fun was had by all, and by the last few houses Liam was so tired that Megan had to carry his bucket and he kept forgetting to say “Trick or Treat”. lol…that’s a success by ANYONE’s standards!

As the photos will show, Liam went as Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.  I made the shirt, vest and pants, and we bought or pieced together the rest.  Facial hair and makeup courtesy of Megan!

Hope your Halloween was as much fun as ours was. :)

Maggie, Brooklyn, Liam, Hannah, Baby Ella and an unnamed ballerina...

Aunt Megan is a good sport!

The pirate and the cheerleader...

Cap'n Jack consorting with Zelda, Queen of the Gypsies.

It was REALLY hard to get him to stay still for a good picture!

A lovely witch was brewing up refreshing lemonade in her cauldron. Liam announced, "I got lemonade! And, it was REAL!"

Pumpkin Patch – Take Two

We hit our regular Farm Market last weekend to pick up another pumpkin and a bale of hay for our “Halloween Yard Decor”.  Couldn’t hold Liam off any longer – he apparently LOVES everything about Autumn.  Honestly – he’s so excited for Halloween, Thanksgiving, jackets, leaf piles – if it has to do with Fall,…

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

Since everyone who reads this blog is likely a friend or family member, you already know about our weekend o’ sick…so I’m just going to skip over that except to say that thankfully we all woke feeling healthy and ready to enjoy the sunshine today. Hallelujah! (No…seriously.) So, Liam and I decided to go on…

Jamestown, Pirates & the End of Summer

We didn’t spend this past weekend (Labor Day) at the beach…as is traditional around here.  While the calendar and the first day of public school dictate the end of summer to most folks, we’ve got an extra week – Liam doesn’t start school ’till the 13th. Since we’re two blocks away and can walk down…

July: WHOOSH! Gone.

Good Lord – how is it that this summer is flying by?!?  Well, let’s see…you knew we had soccer from the last post.  We had Summer Camp, Aunt Megan came to visit, then Grannie Vee, then we had swimming lessons – all of which were interspersed with playdates, trips to Aunt Eva & Uncle George’s…

Sum-sum-SUMMERTIME!

Holy Cow – I feel like a heel for not posting anything here in over a month! Summer is starting off with a bang and shows no sign of slowing, but I promise to make a more concerted effort to get pictures up – even if they’re “on the fly” like these! (Remember, you can…

Pele…Beckham…O’Laughlin?

Well, okay – maybe elevating Liam to the dizzying heights achieved by soccer’s elite is a *bit* premature.  But, you have to start somewhere, right? And he has… Last night was his first Pee Wee Soccer practice! Now, this was a fairly momentous occasion, as it marked Liam’s first foray into “Team Sports”.  Since he’s…

The Lost Clancy Brother…?

So…back on St. Patrick’s Day, I played some Irish Music for Liam in the car on the way to school.  All I happened to have with me was a Clancy Brothers’ CD of Irish Drinking Songs, but I popped it in anyway thinking it would just be that one time, just for the duration of…

Easter!

Let me just get this out of the way:  we didn’t make it to Mass on Easter Sunday.  I know, I know…*sigh*.  I’ll do better. We DID make it to an Easter Egg Hunt the day before, though.  Well, I say “Easter Egg Hunt”…what I really mean is “Reinactment of ‘Braveheart’”.  Never have I seen…

New Hobby: Horticulture!

Remember “Uncle Robert”?  (Our very dear friend who’s just like family.) Well, Robert has a BEAUTIFUL garden.  Seriously.  All raised beds, trelisses, manicured perfection – looks like something right out of Colonial Williamsburg!  And for Liam’s Fourth Birthday Uncle Robert built, delivered and taught Liam to plant his very own garden. They poured the dirt,…
